What do we want to do for you?
Environmental law and related areas of law are our area of expertise. On our website we explain in which situations you can reach out to us for support. Though, this is never black and white, so please give us a non-committal call to see how we can take matters further or refer you on as best we can.
Our website provides an overview of the main areas in which we are active on a daily basis. These areas have common ground and often come together in our cases.
You, as a company, (legal) consultancy agency, (environmental) organization or private individual, legal expenses insurer or fellow lawyer, are of course central to our work. We give shape to this by devising innovative forms of service, such as actively supporting your own self-help, offering ad hoc support methods and tailor-made cost arrangements. But for us it all starts with a good relationship with you....always nearby.
From Lawyer to Lawyer
HABITAT also supports lawyers from other law firms in answering sub-questions in ongoing cases at the other firm.
Other law firms regularly refer cases to us when their own expertise is lacking, when there is under capacity or when a second opinion is needed.
Short questions and support for which we have the knowledge ready anyway is done collegially without charge for our "colleagues" (the ladies) and "confrères" (the gentlemen). We like it when you call or email us for a chat!
Amsterdam has the largest concentration of houseboats nationwide. Therefore a lot of knowledge about houseboat law and everyday practice is available in Amsterdam. HABITAT participates in the "Amsterdam Houseboats Consultation" of and for lawyers who - like HABITAT - deal with houseboat issues on a national scale on a daily basis.
How do we do it?
We strive to provide A-quality support, legally and strategically. But also in the relationship from person to person. Our office environment is digitized as much as possible, with digitally stored files and digital mail and fax processing. We work in a highly secure cloud environment, with specialized IT suppliers. Internally and externally we have video connections available in our work processes and of course we are easy to reach via email, website and a national phone number to our reception.
We are deliberately cautious with the use of social media, because confidentiality in the performance of our work is paramount.
In order to be able to continue to do this well, we are all academically trained, we attend postgraduate courses and trainings annually and of course we keep up to date with our field and the developments in our industry. Specialized work has the advantage that similar cases are dealt with more often. This increases the substantive quality of our services and saves time and therefore costs for you. We find regular exercise important to keep mentally and physically fit in a work environment with a generally high workload.
